Sam, I Am: Lone Star Boxer Rescue Sends Us Boxer Love

Sammy Boxer

Sam the Boxer

Hey. Finally, Here’s some pics of Sam, our new rescued Boxer.

Sam is 7 and 1/2 years old. He is sweet, handsome, affectionate, mellow, smart, and quick to learn. He loves to give Boxer kisses…I’ve already nick-named him Sammy Q. Licker.

As best we can tell Sam the Boxer was an outdoor dog. His owners found out he had heartworms and took him to the SPCA to put him down. The fine folks at the SPCA called Lone Star Boxer Rescue and Sam was placed in a foster home. Jaquiline did a lovely job of working with him tell Sam came to live with us.

    Sam is beautiful! Congratulations. I would still love to get my boxer Bo out to play with your guys some day. Just email me and let me know.
    xoxoxo

    • Tina;

      I’d love to meet Bo. Sammy would too. Our older Boxer Lucy doesn’t play so well with others.

      Hope you are doing good. ad

  2. Eileen says:

    Hey, Alan and Jim. He is a beautiful guy…looks good with Jim! Y’all have a wonderful mountain/western trip and let us know when you are back. Can’t wait to meet Sam. E

    • Ms. Eileen;

      So glad you like the pics of Sam. We are so happy to have him. Our trip to New Mexico and Colorado was FAB-u-lous! ad

  3. Susan says:

    I’ve always thought that pack animals are happiest when they have another 4-legged pack member around. And besides, once you’ve lived with the fun and affection of two dogs, it’s hard to go back to having just one. Great addition to the Peveto Pack!!

    • Hey, Ms. Susan;

      Thanks for the kind words. We are so happy to have Sam with us. After eight glorious days on the road, Sammy slathered us with Boxer kisses. We were welcomed home in grand style. Thanks for the howdy. ad

    • Linda;

      Sam and Moe are kindred spirits, just as we…

      I loved Durango and we stopped for a quick soak in Pagosa Springs on the way to Taos. Beautiful drive. We had a joyful and restive time together. ad

    thanks for sharing, alan :)

    june is just “Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat” month, but of course also rescued dogs need our attention, and affection

    and, sam definitely found it!

    love your whole family’s way ♥♥♥

    namaste.

    • Elena; Thanks for the note. “Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat” should be every month. The waste and neglect of our animal friends is a clue to how much healing and growing we as human beings still have to go. ad

  6. charlie morgan says:

    Alan, great to hear of your vacation/work thingee in the Rockies.

    and i love sam, i am…lucy too. gorgeous!

    peace,
    charlie

    • Hey, Mr. Charlie;

      We had a fabulous time on our vacation. We had a couple of major hikes, one o Tent Rocks on the Cochiti Reservation and another into the Rio Grande gorge. We trekked to the hot springs at the river’s edge (the same springs in Easy Rider).e took the healing waters as much as we could. 3 trips to 10,000 Waves, Pagosa Springs, CO, the Rio Grande, and Ojo Caliente. Durango was a delight. The whole town is geared for health and fitness.

      Glad you like Sam and Lucy. We are thrilled to have them share our lives. How’s retirement? Swell I hope. Love you…ad

  7. Jill says:

    Sam is a very lucky dog to have such loving owners and you and Jim!

    • Hey. Ms. Jill; Thanks for the howdy and the sweet words for Sam. We are very happy to have him share the way with us a bit.

      Speaking of new additions. How’s Mr Henry? Swell I hope…

      Love you (and all the Satterwhites). ad

    GENE

    • Mr. Gene;

      Thanks for the howdy. Sam is a jewel. We are all lucky to find each other. He has a wonderful way about him. He has Whisper’s laid back charm with a dose of Lucy’s bumbling goofiness. ad

  9. Rogers Adams says:

    Hey. Love the photos. You did good !! I think the first photo probably is exactly the color things were when you took it. To me it looks like Lucy likes being with him.

    • Hey. Rogers;

      Lucy does enjoy him. They are still settling in together, but they are well matched. He could care less about toys and babies. So no competition there. ad
